Making Tax Digital

Self-employed businesses - sole traders and landlords letting out property - take heed! The Government is now making the assessment of tax on these incomes more efficient by the use of digital technology - which you will have to pay for! Digital taxation already applies to companies and businesses that are VAT registered - now it will almost certainly apply to sole traders, self-employed and landlords letting out property. It means you must have digital accounts submitted to HMRC. You must use HMRC approved software to submit accounts to the Government.

There is an easy-to-read guide Making Tax Digital available.
